We dreamed to see Komodo (Comodo) dragons in person for a long time. During our visit to Bali we took a plane to Flores island where we rented a boat. Boat trip took 3 days in a row . On the way to and from the dragons we visited lots of nice beaches, saw hundreds of thousands of flying foxes, dived with Mantas, enjoyed stars and sunsets....

Komodo vs Rinca islands
Mostly you can see the dragons either visiting Komodo or Rinca islands. Sometimes people have no lucky and can not find the dragons <---- that was the reason why we decided to visit both islands. Our opinion that Rinca is more nice to see since it is almost untouched by civilization and you have real chance to be bitten :) by dragons. Komodo island looks like a zoo :) since the trails are wide and you do not feel the Nature. But anyway I reccomend to visit both islands.
Komodo dragons are cannibals (they can eat each other). The bigest ones are about 3 meters long. They can run 20 km/h (so we almost have no chance to compete with them). Moms stays with eggs only 3 month, the baby dragons come from eggs 5 month later and right after that they have to survive. The baby dragons climb to the trees to surviver and stay there until the trees can keep them :). The dragons can hunt on the big animals all what they need to do - just to bite and after wait until about 60 types of bacterias in their mouth will kill the hunting target. The only cure is antibiotic.
